Back on the bus

The golden circle tour to see the grow operation, geyser, the waterfall and open air seat of the first biking government at the meeting of the continental plates was good. Actually the plates are drifting away here in Iceland. Perhaps it is because the Vikings didn't smell very nice?  The tour group Reykjavik Excursions was good but I am see how a
smaller operation might have been more fun.  We started in a minibus. But that took us to the office where we got in to three full size tour busses for our caravan across the frozen lava plain. The scenery was spectacular.

  1. Amazing!!! I notice the full face wrap going on...making notes. Thanks for the heads up. Booked with the smaller operation, but there may not be enough others for them to do the tour. I may end up on the large bus yet...oh, a local artisan festival is going on this weekend in the downtown.

  2. We also ate at the laundromat cafe. It was quirky and cool. My nachos felt like they were a low end US copy but Murray's pork sandwich was decent and had a bit of European flare. On clothes wind stopping was more important than cold insulating for us. You can buy local clothes there. They have some unique and nifty wool outfits for women but they are pricey. Their version of the north face is 66deg North and even a bit more than North Face gear. There is a pedestrian area around the laundromat cafe that is kind of pearl street like with lots of local activity. The local artisan event sounds fun. I am sure you will enjoy it.
