Our Floating hotel in Stockholm

It has been warm and quiet which is great, although I didn't pay for the canal view.  I am learning to be a cheapskate, but Murray is preventing me from studying very hard for that skill.  Of course the rooms are small.  You can see our window behind us.

You may want to skip Isaac's art commentary

For those of you who haven't been able to divine my metro-sexual tendencies by my fashion selections, it may surprise you to know that I enjoy modern dance now and then.  I wasn't too keen on the program Murray and I saw last night.  It wasn't just because I didn't recognize any of the moves from my ballet 1 class.

Stockholm's presentation of Doubletake was more like a cool lute performance with some irrelevant dancers that occasionally did something cool.  Mainly I liked the solo dancer in the middle of the performance who looked like a break-dancer gone upmarket.  They did some humorous and whimsical stuff which, in addition to the physically challenging, is what I tend to like.  However, much of the humor was in Swedish and French.  The use of #hashtags in the program was quirky too.  While I like improvisation in music, I can't say it worked very well for me in dance.  It seemed to devolve into something between a rugby scrum and Michelangelo's Battaglia dei Centauri.

Back on the bus

The golden circle tour to see the grow operation, geyser, the waterfall and open air seat of the first biking government at the meeting of the continental plates was good. Actually the plates are drifting away here in Iceland. Perhaps it is because the Vikings didn't smell very nice?  The tour group Reykjavik Excursions was good but I am see how a
smaller operation might have been more fun.  We started in a minibus. But that took us to the office where we got in to three full size tour busses for our caravan across the frozen lava plain. The scenery was spectacular.

Grow operations

In Colorado we are used to grow operations. Just not for tomatoes. But when energy from geothermal is cheap and shipping is not I suppose it makes more sense.

The tomato soup was good too.

Reminds me of my youth

I haven't listened to young Scandinavian metal bands since I was young myself. They sound like they did twenty years ago and I still have a soft spot for vocal harmonies and harmonized guitar lines in aggressive music.

A great place to recover

The Blue Lagoon is a great place to relax and recover after a long flight as you wait for your hotel room to open and the food poisoning you gave yourself to subside. Feelinguch better this morning.

Cleaning like a 4th grader

Remember when you could clean your room by bulldozing everything into the closet?  This can be done on a household scale by cordoning off a bedroom.

I wanted one last burger. Murray wasn't having good times. (This is a regional joke, my condolences if you can't eat at good times locally). So she swallowed some of her obsession with being at least 3.5 hours early for international flights to eat, and wait, at a "real restaurant".  The corner bar.
